About The Grafted Olive

Beauty, Cultivated.

I grew up believing that a beautiful home wasn't necessarily about the house itself, but what you made of it.

Raised in a military family, I spent my childhood moving from place to place, often living in modest, rented military housing. But wherever we landed, my mother had a remarkable ability to make our house feel like home. With creativity, thoughtful details and a love of beautiful things, she transformed ordinary spaces into places that felt personal, welcoming and distinctly ours.

She also taught me something else: home is about the people you bring into it.

Living far from extended family, we learned to create family wherever we went. Gathering around a table, welcoming friends and making ordinary occasions feel special became part of how we lived.

Over time, I developed my own love of design, particularly the art of bringing old and new together. Silver, china and treasured pieces passed down through generations found new life alongside things I'd collected along the way. I discovered that beauty often comes not from having everything match, but from finding the connections that make different things belong together.

Alongside a career in business, I've spent more than two decades designing, building and renovating homes, cultivating gardens and finding creative ways to make beautiful living both thoughtful and practical.

Along the way, I've come to believe that living beautifully is about more than the spaces we create. It's also about the people we bring together, the moments we share and the memories we make.

And I've always believed that beautiful living shouldn't require unlimited resources. It's about knowing where to invest, using what you have, making thoughtful choices and learning to recognize what makes something beautiful.

That's why I created The Grafted Olive.

A place to explore beauty together—to look more closely, understand why certain things work and discover how to create more beauty in our own lives.

Because beauty is about more than how things look. It's about how spaces make us feel, the memories we create and the people we share them with.

And because life is too short to save the good stuff for someday.

Use it. Enjoy it. Share it. Live beautifully.
